Bangladesh participated in this tournament. It was the last tournament of the 20th century. Mini World cup competition was held in Bangladesh in 1998. In 1996, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka jointly arranged the World Cup Tournament and Sri Lanka won the trophy. It was the 6th World Cup Cricket.
