Modifiers

যে Word বা Phrase কোন noun এর পূর্বে বা পরে বসে উক্ত noun কে modify করে, তাকে Modifier বলে।

যেমন:

  • A young man is coming.
  • An orphan boy of eight lives here.

 

উপরের গুলোতে মোটা অক্ষরে লিখিত Word বা Phrase গুলো Modifier.

Modifier প্রধানত দুই প্রকার।

  1. Pre modifier.
  2. Post modifier.

 

Pre Modifier কাকে বলে?

যে Modifier noun এর পূর্বে বসে তাকে Pre-modifier বলে।

যেমন:

  • He is a wise man

এখানে Wise Pre- Modifier যা Noun man শব্দের পূর্বে বসে man শব্দকে Modify করেছে তাই Wise Pre-Modifier।

 

Post Modifier কাকে বলে?

যে Modifier noun এর পরে বসে তাকে Post-modifier বলে।

যেমন: 

  • I found the problem solved.

বাক্যে solved post modifier যা noun the problem এর পরে বসে the problem কে modify করেছে তাই solved post modifier
