Here why teaching is a participle, not gerund?

Here the word “enjoying” is gerund. Cause, here enjoying is object in the sentence. And we know that an adjective or a participle cannot be object in a sentence. And we also know that a noun or a gerund which plays the role of noun in a sentence can be object in a sentence. So, here enjoying is a gerund.
