নীতিবিদ্যা সমাজে বসবাসকারী মানুষের কাজের ভাল - মন্দ, উচিত - অনুচিত বিষয়গুলো নিয়ে কাজ করে। আর উপর্যুক্ত বিষয়গুলো স্বাভাবিকভাবেই ঐচ্ছিক কাজ। অকস্মাৎ ঘটে যাওয়া ও অন্যের দ্বারা প্রভাবিত হয়ে কোনো কর্মকান্ড নিয়ে নীতিবিদ্যা আলোচনা করে না।
