অধস্তন ঊর্ধ্বতন কোনো কর্তৃপক্ষের নিকট কাজের জন্য দায়ী বা কোনো লোক অন্য কোনো লোকের কাছে কাজের জন্য দায়ী থাকলে সাধারণত ' responsible to' ব্যবহার করা হয়। যেমন - The Director is directly responsible to the president . অপরপক্ষে কোনো কাজের দায়ভার যখন যে কাজ করে তার ওপরই বর্তায়, তখন 'be held responsible for' ব্যবহৃত হয়। যেমন - Sumi is mentally ill and can't be held responsible for her actions. 'liable to' দ্বারা কোনো দায় - দায়িত্বকে বোঝায়। যেমন - We are all liable to make mistakes when we are tired . সুতরাং সঠিক উত্তর হচ্ছে (ক)।
